What is the Versatile Blogger Award?
If you’re not aware of the various blogging awards that are going around the blogging community, then odds are you haven’t heard of this one either. Although there isn’t any grand prize for becoming a nominee, it’s still a simple gesture that makes a blogger’s day even brighter. It means that somebody else saw your work and thought it was deserving of an award.
Do these awards truly matter? In a way, yes, they do. Will it make you a more credible blogger and help you make more money? No, not really, but it does help build up your morale and gives you more motivation to keep on writing and doing what you love.
I’m a newbie blogger and just recently saw all these awards flooding the twitter newsfeeds. I admit, I asked myself if my blog was going to be interesting enough to spark somebody’s interest and get a nomination. Right before receiving this nomination, I was feeling a bit frustrated from the amount of work I was putting into my blog and only getting a handful of viewers that day. That’s when I received the notification that I was nominated. My motivation and inspiration were sparked and my ego was boosted just enough to get me to feel a lot better about my blog. So yes, this award definitely mattered to me.
The rules are pretty simple and to the point.
- Thank the person who nominated you. This is a given! Include a link to their blog as well.
- Select 15 bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly and nominate them for the Versatile Blogger Award.
- Lastly, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Now comes the fun part.
7 Things About Myself
I used to sing Karaoke.
Years ago, I used to go to several karaoke bars and sing various country songs. In my mind, I was pretty good at it too. Not so sure though. Never got any complaints! And yes, this cartoon depicts how I thought of myself when I was up there singing! HA!
I hate going to the mall.
I know, weird right? I’m a woman that hates the mall with a passion! So many things annoy me when I get to a mall that ends up making my day go from good to bad so I try to avoid malls as much as I can.
I have a secret love for boy bands!
Okay wait one second, don’t judge me just yet! I grew up in the 90’s! That should say enough. Growing up, I was madly in love with The Backstreet Boys. In the 80’s, I was obsessed with New Kids on the Block. Today, I’m not obssessed with any boy band, but I will admit that I do enjoy listening to their music. I took my teenage daughter to a One Direction concert a few years ago and I have to admit that I enjoyed myself. No, I’m not a cougar! I just enjoy the music! Psst, by the way, I still listen to The Backstreet Boys. Shhhhh.
I love collecting keychains.
Anytime I see a cute keychain, I just have to get it. Over the years, I’ve lost so many, but I do have 2 Funko Pop Figure keychains hanging on my purse. I have a major love for Funko Pop Figures by the way! I’m going to be one of those people that have a room with a shelf full of them one of these days!
In my spare time, I enjoy PC gaming.
My hubby has gotten me into various PC games lately that I just can’t stop playing! My two top favorites right now are Grand Theft Auto V and Overwatch. I highly recommend trying them out! It’s so much fun! Who knows, you may just find me online playing!
Plus, if you join my Tinkering Bloggers Discord Server, you’ll see when I’m playing and can send me a message! Other games I love are Portal Knights, Ori and the Blind, Sims 4, and World of Warcraft. I have a badass Frost Mage in WOW by the way.
I love office supplies stores and hobby stores!
I’m one of those people that can get lost in a hobby or office supply store. My recent trip to Hobby Lobby had me feeling like a kid in a candy store! Especially for my bullet journal obsession! If it weren’t for the fact that my 2-year-old started throwing a fit and I am broke, I would have been in there forever!
I secretly enjoy some of the shows my 2-year-old watches.
If you have kids, you’ll know the utter annoyance of watching certain shows or movies over and over again. Me on the other hand, I can actually sit and watch something with my 2-year old for a while and still enjoy it! I truly am a kid at heart! I can watch Big Hero 6 with him a thousand times and still not get sick of it!
That’s All Folks!
So there you have it! A few small personal things about myself that may help you get to know me a little better! Thank you again, Jessica Ruiz, from All For Myself for the nomination!
